One of many monotypes made during a recent printmaking class. Making these large monotypes was a revelation of sorts... a fundamentally different approach to creating, compared to the meticulous drawings I do. It was in a way a very liberating experience, and I will do more of these once in a while.
Thank you! First I covered an entire aluminum plate with color. Then I applied some turpentine to remove some of the color/create textures. finally I added some material on the plate before printing for some extra textures. The first print was awful but I got this from the leftover colors, didn't have to work the plate further at all. Hope that helps
